Academic Progress Audit Reports (APAS)
The Academic Progress Audit System (APAS) is the University of Minnesota’s tool for tracking undergraduate degree progress. It shows completed, in-progress, and remaining requirements for majors, minors, and liberal education. Students can run “What-if” reports to explore other programs. Reviewing APAS helps you stay on track for graduation.
Four-year degree plans outline recommended course sequences to help students graduate on time. These plans are created by each college and are supported by tools like GradPlanner and the University Catalog. Regular advising is encouraged to personalize and stay on track.
The Graduation Planner tool helps students plan courses and track progress toward graduation. You can create a personalized plan, explore major and minor requirements, and consult with your advisor. While it doesn’t officially declare your major, it’s a useful guide for academic planning and staying on track for graduation.
The U offers over 140 undergraduate majors across various colleges, allowing students to tailor their academic paths. Minors complement or broaden a student’s studies. For guidance, students can use the Center for Academic Planning & Exploration (CAPE). Degree requirements and sample plans are detailed in the University Catalog.
Transfer credits are evaluated to determine how they apply toward degree requirements. Students can use Transferology to check how courses may transfer, or submit courses for review if they’re not listed. International coursework is reviewed separately. While transfer credits can fulfill requirements, they do not affect the U of M GPA.
